X-Factors

Trevor Siemian

Trevor Siemian has been quite a surprise during the preseason. He performed well against the Seahawks and led the Broncos down the field for the go-ahead score against the Texans.

While he did not get a whole lot of playing time against the 49ers, Trevor Siemian could be playing for a roster spot. If the Broncos decide to go with three quarterbacks, Trevor Siemian is all but in.

While Trevor Siemian does have a shot to win one of the ten practice squad spots, it might not be the best idea as the Broncos are low on the waiver wire and a team could be scouting at a chance to obtain the seventh round selection.

While he has impressed, this could be a golden opportunity for Trevor Siemian. Perhaps he could be the quarterback of the future.

Darius Kilgo

Another Broncos draft pick from this season, Darius Kilgo has been causing a lot of havoc during the preseason. In fact, he has become a surprise favorite of mine.

Darius Kilgo figures to play quite a bit in the preseason finale. And if there is any indication that he will perform as he has in the last few preseason games, he’s a lock for the final roster.

Bill Kollar’s development of the young Kilgo has really paid dividends and it shows on the field. He eats up blocks and has even recorded two sacks in the preseason.

For all we know, the Broncos might have found something special with Darius Kilgo. He certainly has shown that he has what it takes. Hoping he can transition that ability into the regular season.
