Broncos preseason: 5 stars in victory over Texans

3. Darius Kilgo, DT

This was the most disruptive I’ve seen Kilgo since he dominated the Iowa Hawkeyes early on in last year’s college football season. Kilgo was playing all over the Denver defensive line, and seems to have relished his role as the new backup nose tackle with Marvin Austin being placed on injured reserve.

As a 6th round pick, expectations should be tempered but for this game, Kilgo was phenomenal. He burst through the line for a sack, and played the run really well.

This was an encouraging step forward for the young defensive lineman.
