After what was an overall solid performance at CenturyLink field last Friday night, the Denver Broncos travel to Houston to play the final preseason road game of the season. It will be a homecoming of sorts for Gary Kubiak as they play the Texans, the team that he coached from 2006-2013.
This game will also take place almost one year from when these two teams squared off in the preseason, which was a 18-17 win by the Houston Texans. This game was most remembered by when Peyton Manning was flagged for a taunting penalty after getting into the face of D.J. Swearinger as the first half came to a close.
This figures to be a very interesting matchup. Peyton Manning is slated to play in this game for at least one quarter if not a half. The offensive line will be tested once again as the Houston Texans have a solid defensive front line in my opinion. Having to go up against J.J. Watt, Jadeveon Clowney, and Vince Wilfork will not be an easy task.
Both teams seem to be heading into opposite directions. The Broncos are a team that most call a Super Bowl contender. The Houston Texans, however, are getting there but need some key offensive help with Arian Foster injured and the quarterback situation unsolved. However, preseason games are a chance for both teams to test out what they have before they go into their Week 3 dress rehearsal matchups next week.
In this preview article, we are going to take a look at key matchup, injuries, x-factors, and the prediction. However, I am going to take a bit of a twist and find out what is happening in both camps leading up to this matchup, which I am going to call camp updates. Alright, here we go.
