Steve Atwater

Despite low numbers in the interception category, there is no doubt in my mind that Steve Atwater should make the Hall of Fame. There should be no reason why he is a long shot to begin with. During his career with the Denver Broncos, he basically was what T.J. Ward is to the Broncos now, a hard hitting safety who can make the big play at moment’s notice.

Steve Atwater recorded over 1,000 tackles for the Denver Broncos as well as 24 interceptions and five sacks. From 1990 to 1996, Steve Atwater was selected to the Pro Bowl and made it again in the 1998 season. He was on the all-decades team in the 1990s for his hard work in the Broncos organization.

There is a chance that he can be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but despite his best safety all-time status, there could be a chance he does not make it at all. That is quite sad to realize, but I believe that he will ultimately make it to the Hall.
