Shane Ray is the Denver Broncos first round draft pick from this year, so granted that there will be a lot of pressure on him to perform at a high level rather quickly. With all of the recent articles that the staff at Predominantly Orange have posted over the past few days, perhaps it is time to take something on the lighter side.
On Friday, there seemed to be a big fuss on Twitter about Shane Ray. Does he look like someone that we have seen in action movies and in the world of sports? It appears that way. The Denver Post’s Nicki Jhabvala released a tweet in the early evening hours of Friday comparing Shane Ray to WWE wrestler and action movie star Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson.
Shane Ray got word of the tweet and decided to have some fun with it. Just a few minutes after Nicki’s tweet went up, Shane Ray told fans that the comparison between himself and The Rock has been going on for quite some time in his life. However, things took an awesome turn for fans that were following along with the conversation, when the man himself Dwayne Johnson took to Twitter. And he replied in a way in perhaps the coolest way that a Broncos fan could imagine.
The comparison between Shane Ray and Dwayne Johnson when the picture is shown is like looking into a mirror. There are quite a bit of similarities between Dwayne Johnson and Shane Ray it is beyond awesome just to look at it. But the fun did not stop there.
Broncos corner back Chris Harris Jr. took to Twitter as well once he heard about the comparison. The best corner in the league (as we can all agree) decided to take the opportunity to invite the Fast and Furious star to a Denver Broncos practice in the near future. However, Dwayne Johnson had to decline but had an important message for Chris Harris Jr.
Pretty awesome, am I right? Perhaps I am looking too much into the message, but could Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson be rooting for our Denver Broncos this season? Maybe or maybe not, but one thing is for sure for any Denver Broncos fan. That was pretty cool.
