Selfie with John Elway…

This isn’t really newsworthy, but the guy closest to me in this photo is John Elway himself, taking in practice and chatting it up with a couple of guys.

If only I could have heard what they were talking about…

Other Notes…

– Derek Wolfe and Kapri Bibbs were each shaken up during practice, but both returned and wound up being okay.

– Demaryius Thomas went up against Kayvon Webster in one-on-ones, and I’ll let you imagine how that battle went.

– I feel like Bradley Roby is a really underrated piece to this team. There wasn’t anything in particular I saw that made me think of this, but having a third CB with his talent level is a luxury a lot of teams simply don’t have. He’s going to be a key component of this defense.

– Shane Ray was unstoppable in one-on-one drills. Lining up on both sides, after his third rep, a coach shouted, “that’s three in a row!” I think this is going to be a fun rookie year for Ray, especially getting to play with Ware and Miller.

– Louis Vasquez is elite. He more than held his own in one-on-ones with Broncos pass rushers, looking like he just absorbed contact and controlled the situation. It was beautiful to behold.

– Brandon Stokley, Chris Kuper, and Joel Dreessen were among Broncos alum attending practice. Kuper, in particular, looks like he’s lost a lot of weight since his playing days ended. Dreessen and Stokley both looked great as well.
