We are almost a full week into training camp with the Denver Broncos. After a weekend of light training, the pads have come on for the Broncos. For the first time in the 2015 offseason, Peyton Manning, Demarcus Ware, Aqib Talib, Owen Daniels, and a few other veterans who sat on Monday put on the pads and went full steam ahead.
The fifth day of training camp saw many big plays as well as players making coaches and other Broncos teammates turn heads. From Emmanuel Sanders beating Chris Harris Jr. in the red zone to Connor Barth and Brandon McManus’ kicking competition, there was plenty to talk about when the coaches met the media after the morning practice.
For this day of training camp, we had our very own Sayre Bedinger soaking in the experience that is training camp. He was also at camp yesterday while some of the more known veterans sat. During the fifth day of training camp, he provided his own two cents of what he saw at Dove Valley on Tuesday.
On the fifth day of training camp, we also saw Broncos alumni Joel Dreessen, Brandon Stokley, and Chris Kuper watching former teammates take part on this Tuesday morning. All three alumni also interacted with some of the players.
Now, we figure out what we learned in day five of Broncos training camp. The biggest takeaway was the coaches decided to focus on red zone offense and defense. There were many big plays that were made during the red zone drills. Many touchdown passes and defensive plays were made.
Broncos special teams also got some work in. Connor Barth and Brandon McManus practice on their field goals. Connor Barth was perfect on his four attempts where Brandon McManus missed a 43-yard field goal wide left, but made his other three. It appears that Connor Barth won the day, but we still have a lot of time of training camp left.
As far as injuries are concerned, Michael Schofield appeared to head to the locker room. Gary Kubiak did announce that a few players were dinged up, but should be good to go on Thursday. Training camp resumes on Thursday at 10 AM MST. What can we expect on day six of Broncos training camp? Guess we will have to wait and see.
