The linebacker position for the Denver Broncos will have extra man power this season as the team transitions to the 3-4 defense. All the names on this portion of the roster should not surprise anyone, however I did have a difficult time when it came to the back up players.

Von Miller and Demarcus Ware are as good as you can get when it comes to outside linebackers. They are two of the best defensive players on the roster for the Broncos. They know how to get to the quarterback and cause havoc wherever they end up. This year, they have become masters to a new student in Shane Ray, who will be spelling them from time to time.

On the inside, we have two solid linebackers in Brandon Marshall (not the New York Jets wide receiver) and Danny Trevathan. Both players are coming off of injury and will be back even stronger. Reports have surfaced that they will be ready by the time training camp begins.

The biggest challenge for me putting this together was the back up players. Steven Johnson for me was a given due to his excellent performance in 2014 and the ability to bring the ball carrier down. Lerentee McCray did a solid job during his small role during the 2014 season as well and should be given a spot.

It was a tough decision between Lamin Barrow and Shaq Barrett on who should win the final roster spot for linebackers. I gave it to Barrow because of what he can do for the special teams. However, Barrett can win the job too if he really impresses in training camp.
