Demaryius Thomas and the Denver Broncos agreed to a new five year deal on Wednesday, just minutes before the 4 PM EST deadline for players who were franchise tagged to sign long-term deals. While most of Broncos Country was getting nervous as the eleventh hour continued to tick down the moments, it appeared that a deal was going to happen no matter what.

On Friday morning, Demaryius Thomas met with the media to discuss various topics that has happened to him over the time he has been absent. It was the first time he was in Dove Valley in some time. With everything that was going on at the time, it makes sense as to why he needed some time.

Demaryius Thomas discussed how the deal got done. In short terms, he knew a week before the deadline that a deal would get finished. In a sense, that put a lot of Broncos fans either at ease or had them saying “Don’t scare us like that Demaryius!” But when everything was said and done, Demaryius Thomas knew that he was going to be a Bronco wearing the orange and blue.

He also talked about when he found out about his mother getting her sentence commuted by President Barack Obama, saying that he looks forward to her coming to his first football game when the whole process of being transferred to a halfway house and finally moving out to Denver. Demaryius Thomas even stated that she will probably be nervous due to flying to Denver.

Demaryius Thomas also stated that he had no intention of sitting out any regular season games and had all the support of the team, mentioning that he had talked to Von Miller and Peyton Manning while he was away from Dove Valley. No matter what happened, Demaryius Thomas was going to be ready no matter how the situation worked itself.

I am excited for Demaryius Thomas and am really glad that things worked out for him. Keeping him in Denver will really help the franchise for the foreseeable future. Who knows, in five years, we could be talking about Demaryius Thomas going down as one of the best wide outs to play for the Denver Broncos, maybe even the league. Broncos Country is glad to have you Demaryius Thomas.
