Denver Broncos Chris Harris Jr. Disrespected by Peers?
By Adam Malnati
The Denver Broncos have learned the word disrespect. If you are a fan of the Broncos, you know what it is like to see your favorite players left out of the Hall of Fame, left off of Pro Bowls, and now, left off of the pointless NFL Network Top 100 list.

The Broncos secondary includes some formidable players, and Aqib Talib and T.J. Ward have taken exception to the rest of the league forgetting about them. Perhaps the biggest slight on this list is the exclusion of Chris Harris, Jr.
Pro Football Focus does their own top 100 list, and Harris, Jr. was rated number one – not for cornerbacks – for the entire league. That’s right. Pro Football Focus rated Chris Harris, Jr. as the top cornerback in all of football for the 2014 season, and the number four player overall in the NFL.
Harris Jr. takes away half of the field. Not many guys in the league can do that.
The stats are pretty clear, and Harris, Jr. is a guy who shrinks the field on defense. He is the definition of a shutdown corner. In 2014 Harris, Jr. did not allow a single touchdown. He had 17 passes defensed and three interceptions. It was pretty clear that teams were avoiding him. Harris Jr. takes away half of the field. Not many guys in the league can do that.
To be fair, the NFL Network Top 100 is voted on by the players, but this slight by the league is unbelievable. Based on the season Harris, Jr. had, how he was unable to make the top 100 players of this league as voted on by his peers can only point to one thing – disrespect.

Clearly, the players in this league do not think much of this Denver Broncos team, especially the secondary. Harris, Jr. and the rest of this defense are going to benefit from a new scheme. The NFL will continue to forget about Denver, and that is just fine. The Broncos are used to being underrated. Harris, Jr. is used to being underrated. The NFL can keep overlooking this team. They will be hard to ignore when the season starts.
