The Denver Broncos have completed their organized team activities and will now be looking forward to enjoy some R&R until training camp begins in late July. The coaches will be spending time looking over the roster and getting a game plan ready for when the dog days of summer begins.

While the Denver Broncos will be on a break from football related activities for a while, this edition of Horse Droppings will focus on key story lines from OTA’s as well as other newsworthy stories that are being talked about.

Let us dive right into it then…

Julio Jones Calls Out Demaryius Thomas

While the contract situation with Demaryius Thomas has Denver Broncos fans worrying, there is a wide out in the NFL South who has taken his stance on the holdout. Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones called out Thomas as well as Dez Bryant for being away from the team. As we all know, Demaryius Thomas is waiting for his big time contract. Julio Jones, indirectly, took shots at both receivers saying that he does not plan on holding out when his contract expires in 2016.

In my opinion, this probably was not the smartest move by Julio Jones. While he is one of the leagues top wide outs, he should not be taking shots at a receiver when it comes to the business side of things. While I am not a fan of Demaryius Thomas holding out, there might be a reason for it.

Denver Broncos Most Underrated Player

Cecil Lammey from Bleacher Report brings his take on Brandon Marshall, the Denver Broncos linebacker, and tells us why he believes that he is the team’s most underrated player going into the 2015 season.

I have to agree with Cecil. Outside of Broncos Country, not a lot of people are talking about Brandon Marshall. He has a solid skill set and knows how to effectively wrap up and tackle the ball carrier. Cecil also points out how he can succeed in Wade Phillips’ 3-4 defensive scheme and his motivation to return from his Lisfranc surgery. Watch out, Brandon Marshall is on the rise.

Are the Denver Broncos Title Contenders in Transition?

As the Denver Broncos gear up for another season, an interesting piece by Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com points out how the team is in a rare spot for a franchise.

This piece really stood out to me because of everything that is pointed out in the article. He states that the Broncos own a top five roster, have a new coaching staff, and are in the midst of a transition. However, he points out that despite all the changes, this team is still a Super Bowl contender.

This makes me really excited for the season. I’m curious on how Gary Kubiak and the staff do in 2015.

That is all on this edition of Horse Droppings. Stay tuned to Predominantly Orange for all news in regards to the guys in blue and orange.
