The Denver Broncos have not gotten a lot of chances to see Shane Ray practice with the team due to various injuries coming out of Missouri. Now the time to see how he does during practice might be soon.
The team is expected to conclude organized team activities this upcoming week, and the Broncos are hopeful that Shane Ray, who has battled toe and quad injuries, will be able to participate in the team drills instead of individual drills. This is good news for the Broncos because now they get to see how Shane Ray will do following his series of unfortunate events that have led him to be injured for a long period of time.
Denver drafted Shane Ray with the 23rd overall pick in this years draft. In order for them to move up to get him, they had to contact the Detroit Lions and trade some picks along with Manny Ramirez. Some were confused with the pick because of the Broncos need at offensive line and most analysis expected him to drop due to his marijuana pull over a few days prior to the draft. However, the Broncos saw enough of him in order to do whatever they could to draft him.
The Broncos are figured to have Shane Ray in the defense as part of a three headed monster along with Von Miller and Demarcus Ware. I am interested to see how Shane Ray does in the 3-4 defense since he was playing defensive end in the 4-3 while in college.
Seeing as how Shane Ray is going to really help the Broncos defense this season, it would not be surprising at all if the team decides to ease Shane Ray into practice. As we all would believe, Shane Ray will be spelling for Demarcus Ware in order to keep him fresh. With these three linebackers attacking on both sides, it will be difficult for the opponent to be able to keep all three at bay.
Can’t wait to see what Shane Ray has in store for the Broncos in 2015.
