When we were all little, I assumed at some point you wanted to have super powers and save your town from evil. For one child, his dream got to come true in the form of Green Blaze.
Jack, a seven year old battling a disease known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type Two, got the chance of a lifetime on Saturday as he became the sole savor of the citizens of Denver, Colorado. During an event hosted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Jack’s superhero identity Green Blaze traveled around to save the citizens of Denver from a super villain named Doctor Destruction.
Diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy just before turning two years old, Jack has been very calm about the whole situation and has not let it slowed him down. The genetic disorder has not dampened his spirits at all as he looks to live out his comic book dream with his favorite team.
With the help of Miles the Mascot, he was able to save Broncos linebackers Danny Trevathan and Lerentee McCray from the grasp of the evil villain. With the defeat of Doctor Destruction and the safe rescue of two of the Broncos linebackers, the city of Denver was safe and it is all thanks to Green Blaze.
This event was a year into the making and it was a great thing to see the Broncos join in on the fun. Helping make Jack’s dream come true by becoming his own superhero and saving the team that he enjoys to cheer for must have made that even more memorable.
Emmanuel Sanders even got into the action on Saturday as he acted as a motivator by sending Jack a special message wishing him luck in saving his teammates from evil.
From the citizens at Broncos Country, we want to say thank you to Green Blaze for saving the city and the Broncos from certain doom. We look forward to seeing you fight crime again and making the city of Denver safe.
