Jeff Heuerman might not be able to see any game action during his rookie season, but the Broncos made sure that he had enough time to show them what he is capable of.

The Denver Broncos have officially put all of their draft picks under contract just a little over a month after the draft with the team officially signing Jeff Heuerman to his rookie deal. The deal is reported to be for four years.

Jeff Heuerman was projected to replace the production of Julius Thomas, with the former tight end moving on in free agency. Jeff Heuerman’s blocking and receiving abilities gave the Broncos something to look forward to despite losing Thomas to the Jaguars. However, during a special teams drill in rookie minicamp, Jeff Heuerman’s knee buckled and was later discovered that he in fact did tear his ACL.

While Jeff Heuerman will be spending his rookie year rehabbing the knee injury, coach Gary Kubiak told the media that he would still be involved with the offense.

With all nine draft picks under contract with the Broncos, the team can now focus on preparing for the start of the 2015 season. Who knows, maybe now they can now see what they have available in order to sign a certain number 88 to a long term deal? Only time will tell.

Jeff Heuerman could be a solid contributor to the Broncos. During his time with Ohio State he showed his abilities as a protector of both the pass and running game. Despite Julius Thomas’ skill set as a receiver, he was not a great blocker. Jeff Heuerman has shown that he can play both the receiver and the blocker.

Now that Jeff Heuerman is under contract with the Denver Broncos, we now just sit and wait until the third round pick makes his official NFL debut in 2016. Broncos Country wishes you a fast recovery Jeff Heuerman.
