Defense is going to be such a huge part of the Denver Broncos this season. With Wade Phillips leading the defense into forcing the quarterback’s hands, it is going to be key that he has players that have the ability to get to the quarterback. One player that showed that promise in training camp is Kenny Anunike.

The former undrafted free agent last season, Kenny Anunike showed a lot of promise last season during training camp and figured to make the roster as a backup. However, he suffered an torn biceps injury and was placed on injured reserve while playing in the final preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys.

I believe Kenny Anunike can show a lot of promise for the Denver Broncos defense this season. Not only does he have the ability to get to the quarterback, but he can be key in the running defense too. During his time at Duke University, he accumulated 26 tackles for a loss. He has proven in the past that he has the ability to cause a lot of mayhem in the backfield.

Why do I give him a case for making the roster? Well, his ability to get to the backfield as I have stated earlier is a big reason why, especially since the Denver Broncos defense plans to get faster and more aggressive. But coming off of a season-ending injury will give Kenny Anunike so much more motivation to fight and compete for a spot on the 53-man roster. He also will be moving from defensive end to the linebacker position, which should benefit his speed.

There is going to be quite a bit of competition at the linebacker position, but I believe Kenny Anunike has a solid shot of making the final roster. I believe he will come back from his injury even stronger and more willing to prove himself.
