With all the news of NFL players getting involved with the law for all the wrong reasons, the league now has a player who was the victim of a crime rather than being a suspect of it.
Broncos corner back Tevrin Brandon was sent to the hospital early Sunday morning from a hit and run accident. Brandon was crossing a nearby intersection with Highway 71 and 35 when a black Ford F-150 pickup truck hit him and fled the scene of the accident. Tevrin Brandon suffered minor injuries and the truck in question has yet to be located. He was released from the hospital.
This is a scary situation. It is fortunate that Tevrin Brandon did not get hurt worse than what was reported. The question is why did the individual in the Ford F-150 pickup truck leave the scene of an accident? Could the driver behind the wheel be intoxicated at the time of the crash? It is too early to tell, but the important part is that Tevrin Brandon is in stable condition and that he did not have any serious injuries.
Tevrin Brandon went undrafted during the 2014 NFL Draft and spent a year in the Fall Developmental Football League before the Broncos signed him to a futures contract back in January. He will be competing for a spot on the 53-man roster most likely as a backup to corners Aqib Talib and Chris Harris Jr.
Tevrin Brandon spent time during his collegiate career playing for the University of Connecticut before transferring to Monmouth University. He was one of the more solid athletes to play for the Hawks during his time there. He played 12 games with the Hawks and was the team’s primary kick returner. The Broncos signed him in hopes that he could perhaps help out on special teams.
Broncos Country wants to wish you a speedy recovery! We look forward to seeing you out on the field again.
