For Max Garcia and Darius Kilgo, they become the first draft picks to officially become members of the Denver Broncos.
The team reported that the Broncos have reached a deal with two draft picks from opposite sides of the football. Fourth round draft pick Max Garcia and sixth round draft pick Darius Kilgo have taken care of the business side of football.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed but looking at Over the Cap, the numbers figure that for the first year for a fourth round draft pick in the Broncos selection figures to make a little over $600 thousand dollars and a little over half a million for a sixth round pick.
Max Garcia is a center/guard from the University of Florida. I believed that he could be the steal of the Broncos draft because of his ability to move around on the line and his natural born leadership ability. He will look to compete with Gino Gradkowski and Matt Paradis for the starting center position. I believe that if he gets beat out and there is a position that can still use his potential that the Broncos could plug him in there, like guard.
Darius Kilgo is a defensive tackle out of the University of Maryland. He was the only defensive line player drafted by the team. But from what I saw from his highlights against West Virginia, he is a force to be on the defensive side of the football. The sixth round pick figures to play a huge part in special teams in the early stages of his career, but he can make an impact on that field as well.
With two of the first nine picks signed by the Broncos, they take the first step into getting their drafted rookies prepared for life in the NFL. And now, we officially welcome Max Garcia and Darius Kilgo to Broncos Country.
