Scouting Report

Here, the Broncos are getting one of the most versatile offensive linemen in the entire draft. Garcia, a transfer from Maryland, can play tackle, guard, or center, but he was announced as a center and he has a chance to be a starter for the Broncos sooner rather than later.

Team captain who was an All-SEC performer and a guy that combines power and quickness. Here’s what NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein had to say about Garcia:

“Team captain who is beloved by teammates, fans and his coaches. Considered a hard worker in weight room. Has upper-body power to torque and move defenders. Phone-booth mauler. Shoots his strong hands inside and fights to keep them there. Features power, body control and hand placement to win early in the snap. Usually recognizes twists, coming off initial block to pick up twister. Despite gentle demeanor off the field, is willing to mix it up and turn a snap into a fistfight if need be. Showed off natural power in reps against Washington’s Danny Shelton and Iowa’s Carl Davis at Senior Bowl practices.”

Pick Grade: B+

This was a solid pick at an area of need for the Broncos. Like any offensive line pick, this doesn’t have the kind of flash you might like to see, but the Broncos have needs up front and they are addressing them. Garcia is a high character player that had a great offseason and put himself in the top 100 discussion according to some.

I like this pick a lot.
