There is no doubt on anyone’s mind that the Denver Broncos are looking for to draft an offensive tackle or two in this years draft. A name that has been on a lot of eyes recently is Texas A&M offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi.

According to Mike Klis of The Denver Post, the Broncos have decided to use one of their 30 draft prospect visits to invite Cedric Ogbuehi to Dove Valley. Here is a guy who started his collegiate career as a guard but moved over to tackle later on.

It is not surprising that the Broncos are bringing in offensive linemen to visit with. However, this could be a smart move by John Elway to bring him in. In Texas A&M’s Liberty Bowl win against West Virginia, Cedric Ogbuehi tore his ACL. That brought him from a possible first round draft pick to a late second round or early third round pick at best.

Despite his injury, the Broncos must like what they see in Cedric Ogbuehi. His physical appearance is ideal for the zone-blocking scheme. He measures in at 6-foot-5 and weighs 306 pounds. This makes him a solid candidate for the Broncos offensive line, which looks to be almost brand new due to all the flaws it had last season including many changes.

The one quality that I like about him is how quick he can be on his feet. He shuffles quickly to beat the outside rushers whether it be a defensive lineman or a linebacker. He has the ability to help the quarterback extend the play because he can extend the defender away from the play with one arm.

It will be interesting to see how the visit goes. But if Cedric Ogbuehi’s ACL injury forces other teams to be cautious with drafting him, this could be an interesting prospect the Broncos could look at on day two of the draft.
