Cody Latimer was one of the bigger surprise draft picks for the Denver Broncos during last year’s draft. After watching him in training camp and preseason, the fanbase was excited to see what he could offer. Now he will be getting his big chance.
On the first day of workouts for the Broncos that took place on Monday, it has been said that Emmanuel Sanders will be working more out of the slot this season. Working as the third wide out is something that was discussed for a while in Broncos Country if Wes Welker did not return to the Broncos after the 2014 season. With that becoming a reality now, the Broncos are looking towards utilizing Cody Latimer for the 2015 season. And I think he will be very successful.
I’m not saying that because Peyton Manning will be throwing the football to him, but his skill set gives him the chance to become a solid player in the passing game. Looking at his performance in the preseason, there is no doubt that Cody Latimer will take this season in stride and show the rest of the league what he can do.
Even Emmanuel Sanders had high hopes for Cody Latimer in 2015.
Last year, Cody Latimer got limited playing time as he was inactive for the majority of the 2014 season. The reason why he was inactive still surprises many fans, but I think that gave Cody Latimer the motivation to take the most of the opportunities he had when he was active and to give him the added motivation for this upcoming season.
The added motivation along with the support from his teammates and fans should give Cody Latimer a stronger push going into the 2015 season. He has all the abilities to become a great wide out for the Broncos. Now it looks like we will finally get to see him play a meaningful game for a significant amount of time.
Let the Cody Latimer era begin!
