The Denver Broncos preseason starts in four months. Thursday’s announcement revealed who they will be playing in the month of August and early September.
The NFL announced the preseason schedule for all 32 teams on Thursday afternoon. While the dates and times for these games have yet to be determined, the Broncos at least know who their preseason opponents will be and what week they play them.
Four familiar teams play the Denver Broncos this preseason. They open up the preseason at Centurylink Field against the two time defending NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks. It will be the fifth time in the last two years (preseason, regular season, and postseason) that these two teams have faced off. Even though it will be a preseason matchup, look for both fan bases to be pumped up.
In Week 2, the Broncos travel to Texas as Gary Kubiak returns to Houston to play the Texans. The Broncos and Texans faced off in Week 3 of the 2014 preseason, which ended in a heartbreaking 18-17 defeat. Broncos fans also remember that game in which Peyton Manning was called for a taunting penalty and later fined for it, which brought about the famous saying, “Money Well Spent.”
The Broncos open up Sports Authority Field for the first time in the preseason when the San Francisco 49ers come to town. This will be the third time in the past year that these two teams faced off. The Broncos have dominated the last two games with a 34-0 win during the preseason and a 42-17 win during the regular season. This game will be a dress rehearsal for both teams.
The preseason concludes against the Arizona Cardinals. These two teams did not meet in the preseason last season, but did have a regular season matchup last year, which Denver won 41-20. The backups for both teams should get plenty of action. One name that most of the Broncos fans will focus on is Brock Osweiler. Can he be the franchise quarterback? This game will be a huge test for him.
Preseason is only a few months away. Get excited Broncos Country.
