Broncos Players Take Part in Jameis Winston Gruden Camp
While other Denver Broncos players were getting started working out together this offseason at Duke’s football facilities, others were getting involved in some other fun stuff…
Cornerback Tony Carter and running back Kapri Bibbs took part in Gruden’s QB Camp on Wednesday for prospective number one overall pick Jameis Winston, and they were kind enough to share some behind the scenes on their Instagram accounts.
Around NFL Draft time, Gruden’s QB Camp is must-see television. Say what you want about Jon Gruden, but the guy is hilarious and, when it comes to coaching quarterbacks, he knows what he’s talking about.
Watching young prospects respond to his leadership and teaching is entertaining, enlightening, and downright cool. You feel like you really get a glimpse at these guys as people, which you don’t normally get when they’re standing in front of a podium trying to say the right thing to the media.
I’ll be excited to see this particular version to find out what involvement Tony Carter and Kapri Bibbs had. Carter re-signed with the Broncos this offseason to be their sixth corner and a core special teams player this next season. He’s had a habit of making big plays spread out at random moments in his time with the Broncos.
Bibbs, who was an undrafted free agent last offseason out of Colorado State, didn’t see any snaps for the Broncos last season but spent some time on the active roster and the practice squad, and even tried out for the Arizona Cardinals at one point.
In the photo he took here with Winston, he looks absolutely cut up. I don’t remember him being that big last year, but I guess you also don’t really see guys without their football pads on that often.
At any rate, this is a fun development and I’ll be excited to see what these Broncos players had to do with Winston’s Gruden Camp appearance.
