It did not take long for the Broncos to find Julius Thomas’ replacement. Welcome to Broncos Country Owen Daniels.

Before Owen Daniels can even visit with the Broncos, the team has agreed to a three year deal with the former Baltimore Ravens tight end, as first reported by Adam Schefter. The deal is for $12 million.

The Broncos and Owen Daniels are a great fit for each other. Owen Daniels is reunited with Gary Kubiak and he is a great fit for the offensive scheme the Broncos are planning to execute in 2015. I have been lobbying for this reunion for the past month and a half now. Owen Daniels should be placed in Julius Thomas’ old shoes, as he has officially signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

With both Virgil Green and Owen Daniels in Denver for three years, these two tight ends look to further improve the new look Broncos offense. Both Virgil Green and Owen Daniels will play huge a huge part in the two tight end system. Owen Daniels figures to be the safety net for Peyton Manning in the passing game while Virgil Green will be implemented in the running game.

I said before that I would be surprised if the Broncos and Owen Daniels did not come up with a deal tomorrow. Never have I heard of a deal being done before both parties even met. But it is great to see that the two parties involved were able to come to a deal rather quickly. John Elway saw something in Owen Daniels as I have and wasted no time in getting something done very quickly.

Now that the Broncos have a veteran presence at the tight end position with Owen Daniels and have locked up Virgil Green, now it is time to look at the offensive line. The Broncos are in good hands for the next few years with these two tight ends.
