It’s no secret the Denver Broncos will have major needs on the offensive line entering free agency, and they could be poised to address them in a big way. Denver Post Broncos beat reporter and insider Troy Renck took to Twitter for some questions on Saturday afternoon and was asked a great one.
It certainly makes sense, and Renck is right. The Broncos could be interested ‘to a degree’ but the price has to be right. They can’t go out and overpay players like the Raiders or Browns or Jaguars will be able to, but they can certainly afford some of the big names and looking along the offensive line, it makes sense that these two players are among the candidates.

Hudson is a player we identified early on as the best free agent center on the market, and adding him to the Broncos would be doubly awesome because they would be taking him from the Kansas City Chiefs. The biggest issue with Hudson is, will his asking price (reportedly around $7 million per season) be too high for John Elway?
The same question applies to Iupati, a former San Francisco 49ers draft pick and Denver Broncos draft fan favorite. I remember back when Iupati was a prospect, so many fans were pining for him to be wearing orange and blue from the outset, and it may be five years later, but that wish could yet be granted.
Iupati has never been as good in pass protection as he is as a run blocker, but he would be a really intriguing fit in the Broncos’ offense which figures to have a lot of zone blocking concepts.
Undoubtedly, John Elway will make some big splash in this year’s free agent crop, and landing one or both of these players would certainly accomplish that.
