UPDATE: The Broncos have hired Gary Kubiak as Head Coach. It has also been reported that Rick Dennison will be the new offensive coordinator, meaning Adam Gase is most likely out in Denver.
It has been almost a week since the Broncos have almost cleared house with coaches. John Fox and the team agreed to part ways and now he is in Chicago while Jack Del Rio took the head coaching position for the Broncos rivals, the Oakland Raiders. But it may not be long now until the Broncos have their new coaches.
It is very likely according to reports that Gary Kubiak, the current Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator, will take the job as the Denver Broncos head coach if the job is offered to him. This would bring Kubiak home to the Broncos after he spent countless years as a player and the offensive coordinator. Kubiak would also have some power to choose his coaches to run the offense and defense. I think, in my own opinion, that Gary Kubiak should keep Adam Gase and bring in Vance Joesph to coach the offense and defense respectively.
Adam Gase might not be the fan favorite, but let’s not forget two key ideas. Gase did have an explosive offense in 2013 and looked to improve it with a running attack this season. Plus, there are many reports that Gase could be the one of the key factors that prevents Peyton Manning from retiring. There are reports that Gase is interviewing for offensive coordinator positions elsewhere, but if he impressed in his head coaching interview with the Broncos, they should do what it takes to make sure he stays.
Vance Joesph also interviewed for the Broncos head coaching position. Since the Broncos did that, they could have a solid idea on if he would fit for the Broncos. The Broncos got a taste of what Joesph can bring to the table. He was the defensive backs coach for the Cincinnati Bengals, the same team that intercepted Manning four times. Joesph also has ties to the Colorado area as he attended Colorado University and played behind Kordell Stewart. He also coached as a Graduate Assistant there until he came into the league in 2005. Being the defensive coordinator for Gary Kubiak and the Broncos could help build up his resume even higher. Plus he would be coming into a great situation because of what he has to work with. The Broncos had a Top 5 defense last year and have a lot of star players.
These three coaches could be the missing pieces the Denver Broncos need to complete a Super Bowl run. Gary Kubiak knows what it takes to win the big game and he will look to have the help of Adam Gase and Vance Joesph to take the final step and have the Denver Broncos become champions once again.
