The Denver Broncos search for a head coach is dominating the minds of fans everywhere. Very familiar names have come up, and the Broncos is probably the best job available for a coach who wants to win right now, and what coach doesn’t. The issue is, which coach would be the best fit for Peyton Manning and company.

Gary Kubiak has become the front-runner in John Elway’s search for a head coach. He has a long history with Denver and Elway, and Broncos country would probably welcome him with open arms. Other possible replacements, like Dan Quinn from Seattle, or Adam Gase in Denver, could also be very good hires.

What will be required of the new head coach in Denver to get that job done? Fire.

The fact is, any number of possible replacements could take over and win football games immediately. Winning football games is not the goal in Denver. Winning the Super Bowl is the goal. What will be required of the new head coach in Denver to get that job done? Fire.

There has been a lot of great football being played in Denver over the last 3 years. Even the lost Tim Tebow year had some pretty good moments. It could be said that was the last time anyone played with real passion for the Denver Broncos. John Fox was never going to work his players into a frenzy, and Peyton Manning is no a ra-ra guy either.

  • No. The passion is going to come from another place, and Elway will take that into consideration when hiring his next head coach. This is not a plea for some idiot jumping up and down on the sidelines with an inability to control his emotions. No one would benefit from that. It is a suggestion that the Denver Broncos bring in a head coach who inspires his players.

Any player in New England would run through a brick wall for Bill Belichick. John Harbaugh makes his players want to fight for him until the final second ticks off the clock. Pete Carroll’s players love him to the point that they play with relentless fervor. There is a competitive fire that is required to be a great coach in the NFL.

John Fox is a good coach, but Elway knows good is not good enough. When the Broncos announce who the next head coach is, there will be a lot of excitement. It has to come from the head coach first. It does not matter who it is, but it does matter how much fire he brings to this Broncos team.
