There were people who questioned the pick of the Ohio State defensive back.
I wasn’t one of them.
I said this kid would make an immediate impact on this defense, and he has. Along with Oakland’s Khalil Mack, Roby has to be in the discussion for NFL Rookie Defensive Player of the Year.
People still talk about the amazing catch-and-run by C.J. Anderson as the game-changing play against the Raiders, but if not for Roby’s key intercepti0n, that play doesn’t happen.
The big moments don’t scare Roby. He makes clutch plays, he’s physical, he’s a great tackler and he can cover. He shored up the Broncos secondary and he’s played nine games. Chew on that for a little bit. Cornerback is one of, if not the toughest position for a rookie to learn and play in the NFL.
He’s turning into one of the must-see Broncos to watch. This game against the Rams is no different.
