Demaryius Thomas was not feeling all that confident through the first three games of the regular season. After today’s performance, it can be said that he has returned to the Demaryius Thomas we all know and love.

Demaryius Thomas had his best game of his career as he broke the Denver Broncos’ receiving yards record, previously held by Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe, with 226 yards through the air and even added two touchdowns. In perhaps the most important season for the franchise wide out, Demaryius Thomas perhaps got quite a bit of a confidence boost against a solid Arizona Cardinals secondary. He was matched up with Antonio Cromartie for a great amount of the day and made play after play while making Cromartie look like a rookie.

While Demaryius Thomas had a career day, he should thank Peyton Manning for giving him the chance to make some plays. It appeared from the beginning that Manning wanted to help Demaryius Thomas get his confidence back as he would try to find any chance to get the ball towards him. It was made apparent when Demaryius Thomas recorded both of his touchdowns and over 150 yards receiving in the first half.

He did reveal that he felt his confidence was shot because he was fearing that he was letting his team down and during the bye week, he went to visit family and work on his game. Perhaps the bye week came at a good time for the Broncos, at least for Demaryius Thomas. The early bye allowed him to regain his focus and his confidence for the next thirteen games. For the first of those games, it sure looks as if he will be just fine going forward for the next twelve weeks.

I am excited to see if Demaryius Thomas can continue this trend. A big game is exactly what he needed in order to get back on track this season. I believe he will build off of this game and play even better. For a player that is looking to lock up a long term deal and become the face of the Broncos franchise for years to come, he had a game to remember for years to come. All I have to say is welcome back Demaryius Thomas. It is great to have you back.
