Four Areas the Denver Broncos Can Improve After Bye Week

5 of 5

4. Quarterbacks Roaming Free

The Broncos have done a good job of getting initial pressure on quarterbacks, but they have not been able to close the deal, so to speak. Through three games, they have just eight sacks as a team, and are allowing quarterbacks to gain too much yardage on the ground.

It seems impossible to think the Broncos could have underestimated the athletic ability of Andrew Luck, Alex Smith, or Russell Wilson, but they have. All three quarterbacks have made huge, game-altering plays with their legs rather than with their arms in clutch situations.

The Broncos are getting the initial pressure, but aren’t keeping a spy on the QB and are allowing these guys to run wild and free wherever they please. That needs to be corrected.
