The below quote from Raheem Moore did not emanate from post-game interviews, rather from back in training camp. In an article featured on Predominantly Orange four weeks ago, we documented how Moore addressed questions from KKFN, 104.3 The Fan’s Sandy Clough in relation to the importance of takeaways. The Broncos were near the bottom of the league in turnover ratio last season and none of the Denver DBs had more than 3 INTs in 2013.

"“You know what? At some point that’s going to have to stop! Because if we want to win the Super Bowl, we’re going to have to get takeaways”"

Clough responded to Moore’s claim that he will lead the league in INTs this year by letting the third year safety from UCLA know that he would have to intercept between 7 and 9 passes. Can he do it? With all of the confidence in the world, Rahim exclaimed.

"“Absolutely…I will…I promise you!”"

Well Moore is about a quarter of the way to keeping his promise. He played very well and picked off Andrew Luck twice. You have to think that barring injury, he should exceed 9 with no problem. After all, he faces Alex Smith, Phillip Rivers, and Derrick Carr twice and St. Louis Rams’ QB da jour, Geno Smith/Michael Vick, E.J. Manuel, the “Red Rifle”, Andy Dalton, and Carson Palmer. So there are plenty of INT opportunities in that group of QBs; who could have inspired the R.E.M. song,  “What If We Give It Away”.
