There is no more fitting way to start this list than at the very beginning. A year after being awarded a franchise in the start-up American Football League, the very first game of this new league saw our Broncos beat the Boston Patriots, 13-10. Clad in mustard and brown uniforms donated from a local high school, the budget was tight and this was the first of 17 years of lean years on the field. However, Denver will forever be the first AFL team to win a game. Besides, who didn’t love those vertically striped socks?
