SEPTEMBER 5th, 2013

This nationally televised Sunday Night Football game was one that was going test the Broncos’ intestinal fortitude. With the stinging memory of a divisional playoff game, that a superior Denver team gave away, still fresh in their minds (not to mention handing over what should have been their third Lombardi Trophy), the Broncos took to (Sports Authority Field at) MIL HIGH STADIUM to prove that the events of January 12th, 2013 was nothing more than a fluke, a gift, an aberration, and a sick twist of fate. They did just that with a 49-27 thrashing of the team who was good enough to accept our generous gift and run with it all the way to a Super Bowl; the Baltimore Ravens. Oh, and again…YOU’RE WELCOME! While the victory was a great way to start the season, it was an NFL record-tying performance that made Week 1 of the 2013 season memorable. Manning was 27-of-42 for 462 yards, a record-tying 7 TDs, and no interceptions. Point taken, guys!

Now that the 2014 season is upon us, we have yet more to prove and a lot of unfinished business. Here’s to making an example of the Colts in yet another memorable season opener. Let’s hope I’m back at this computer (or preferably a new one) next year adding September 7th, 2014 as the first win en route to a Super Bowl XLIX championship.

I surely hope you enjoyed my version of Broncos’ Opening Day, 101…there will be a test later. That is all.
