5. No Mental Errors on Special Teams
Far too often the Broncos make mental mistakes on special teams. Missing their assignments on punt/kickoff coverage, dropping punts, shanked punts, missed field goals…Those all had to be areas of emphasis in the preseason and should be cleaned up for the regular season.
The roster in Denver is too talented for special teams tackling errors to happen, but last year, they happened a lot. The Broncos are also relying upon rookie Isaiah Burse to return punts. He needs to be sure-handed, and not make the same mistake Trindon Holliday did last year against the Colts.
In fact, instead of no errors, how about the Broncos actually excel on special teams? Let’s go with that.
