Chew The Clock
Up until the postseason, you’d be surprised if the Bronco’s offense knew what the words “chew clock” even meant. In playoff games against the San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots en route to the Super Bowl, however, Denver absolutely dominated the time of possession battle.
Watch for this trend to continue into the 2014 season with a retooled offense that now looks to incorporate running backs Montee Ball, Ronnie Hillman and possibly C.J. Anderson into the mix.
Ball, in particular, has shown the workhorse-like traits that warrant him the best chance of getting the job done in the backfield. On Sunday, he should be given the rock around 20 times and have several chances to score around the goal line.
Hillman will see time as the change-of-pace back and has the ability to bust the Colts defense wide open.
