Tight Ends

Start of the Week:

Julius Thomas – High TE1 – Thomas is ready to have a breakout game. I mean another one, just to remind everyone he belongs in the conversation with Jimmy Graham. With the Wes Welker suspension, Thomas will likely see a boost in routes ran, and will likely be split out wide much more often. Expect a huge game from Thomas.

Start Em:

Vernon Davis – High TE1 – Same thing here as with Crabtree, Davis has a great matchup and will likely take advantage. Vernon has been fantasy gold from the TE position, I expect a good season from him as Kaepernick progresses as a passer.

Jared Cook – Low TE1 – Cook is maddeningly inconsistent, he was with Tennessee and has brought that talent to the Rams. With Shaun Hill starting I expect him to look for his safety valve early and often as he settles in as the Rams starter. Cook has all the talent in the world, and may put it all together this season.

Other Starts: Coby Fleener, Delaine Walker, Zach Miller and Kyle Rudolph

Sit of the Week:

Jordan Reed – Low TE1 – I’m high on Reed this year, he came on strong at the end of 2013 and showcased some skill. That being said, I don’t like him in the matchup against a very physical Houston defense. If you have another option make sure they are in your lineup.

 Sit Em:

Martellus Bennett – Low TE1 – Tough matchup for Bennett, couple that with a training camp suspension and plenty of other offensive weapons, I give pause to starting Martellus here. Who would have ever thought the Bears offense would have too many weapons?

Dennis Pitta – Mid TE1 – Pitta is gonna be a huge part of the Ravens offense. The team was very stagnant without him in 2013, so his return to full health was a welcome addition. Unfortunately in week 1, he will be matched up against a Bengal defense that sports a great set of LBs. With the the addition of Steve Smith, his targets are already expected to drop.

Other Sits: Jordan Cameron, Heath Miller, Brandon Pettigrew and Jermaine Gresham
