Denver Broncos Final Roster Projection: Big Cuts Looming?

Already in three position groups, we have two undrafted rookies making the team. That’s a testament to scouting more than a lack of depth, but in the case of Burse, the Broncos really need a return specialist. Whether or not they leave that spot open for someone else that comes through waivers or keep Burse as an insurance policy, I do not know. The fact is, they didn’t even try anyone else out at the punt return spot in preseason action, giving that job to Burse by default. I don’t know if they are going to be willing to put Wes Welker, currently listed atop the depth chart at PR, any reps back there in the regular season.

It’s a pressure-filled job, but Burse did well enough in the final preseason game to have made a significant impression on the coaching staff. If he doesn’t make the final roster, I will be a bit shocked.
