Defensive Tackle

Terrance Knighton: A-

Sylvester Williams: B+

Marvin Austin: B+

Kevin Vickerson: C+

Mitch Unrein: B-

Overall: B

The Broncos defensive line interior had a strong game against the Texans OL. Knighton was a force to reckon with. He was disruptive on every snap of the ball. He showed his strength, but he also showed surprising agility and quickness to get around blockers. Williams was really strong against the run and causing all kinds of disruption. He has a nasty spin move than often caught the Texans interior off guard. Austin is looking like he will rejuvenate his career with the Broncos, similarly to what Knighton did a year ago. Austin is an excellent penetrator and looks to almost always be in the backfield. Vickerson was back healthy, and he played early and often. He had some rough spots against the Texans and his best play came when he went unblocked, so it doesn’t save his grade that much. Unrein played really well, but not as good as he did against the 49ers. He is on the outside looking in with four interior DL ahead of him.
