Offensive Guard
Orlando Franklin: A
Louis Vasquez: B
Ben Garland: C-
Vinston Painter: B-
Overall: B-
The guard play was rather weak this game. Franklin was by far the best. He was a mauler in the run game and consistently shut down his man in a 1v1. Vasquez played well when matched up against J.J. Watt, but struggled elsewhere. On a screen play he got turned around instead of going up-field. The screen was not successful. Garland and Painter both struggled consistently. Garland is weaker in the passing game, while Painter struggles in the run game. Painter was the better backup guard this game, while Garland was the first two games. It is becoming quite the battle for the backup guard position.
