Broncos vs Texans: Open Thread

Welcome to the open thread for tonight’s game. The Denver Broncos will host the Houston Texans. The game kicks at 7pm MST.

Von Miller, Montee Ball and Kevin Vickerson are in uniform and it’s been reported that they all will play tonight. We’re about to get our first look at what could be the best pass rushing duo in the NFL. Namely, Miller and DeMarcus Ware.

Chris Harris, Jr is being held out again. The Broncos are proceeding with caution. Other than Harris, the team will be without Danny Trevathan, of course, who also missed last week’s preseason game with a fractured tibula.

More from Broncos News

It’ll be interesting to see the offense in full effect, absent no starters. For the Texans, it’s looking like we won’t get to see the #1 overall pick, Jadeveon Clowney. Clowney collided with Jacob Tamme earlier this week in the teams’ joint practices. It’s nothing serious. The Texans are just being cautious.

It sounds like J.J. Watt will play tonight though. That’ll be a key matchup for Broncos right tackle, Chris Clark. Keep an eye on that one.

Traditionally, week 3 of the preseason is the dress rehearsal for the starters on both sides of the ball. Expect to see them on the field through the first possession of the 3rd quarter.

We’ll also have our eye on Brock Osweiler, in hopes that he’ll be able to continue his excellent play. So far this preseason, he has consistently shown improvement and signs that he might indeed be the Broncos’ franchise QB of the future.
