Broncos vs Texans: Emmanuel Sanders Explodes In First Half
By Chad Jensen
Ever since John Elway swept the rug out from under the feet of the Kansas City Chiefs, when he signed wide receiver, Emmanuel Sanders, we’ve all been chomping at the bit to see him in action.
Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to show much in the Broncos two preseason games. In the first game, he was lined up against Richard Sherman. Peyton Manning looked the other way. He missed the second game with a quad injury.
Tonight, Sanders has finally given Broncos Country, and the team, exactly what we’ve been waiting for.
Leading the team with 8 targets, Sanders was on the receiving end of two explosive touchdown plays. One, a 67-yard beauty that showcased his blazing speed. The 2nd TD was a diving catch down the right sideline in double coverage.
In the first half, Sanders has 5 receptions for 128 yards and 2 TDs. Fantasy junkies take heed. Emmanuel Sanders is going to have a ridiculous season.
Sanders brings a quickness and speed to the offense that it has sorely lacked over the last 2 seasons. He was brought in to replace Eric Decker. I think he’s going to do that with gusto.
For what it’s worth, I’d take Sanders in the 3rd round of fantasy drafts. He’s going to build on what Decker produced in his 2 years within the Manning offense.
Broncos lead the Texans 17-7. Halftime.
