The Denver Broncos travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers on Sunday in their second preseason tilt of the year. However, the team left second year corner back, Kayvon Webster back in Denver. Mike Klis of the Denver Post is reporting that Webster sustained a sprained ankle and didn’t make the trip. The injury is not believed to be serious but it might cost him the three joint practices this week with the Houston Texans. There is no truth to the rumor that Webster is totally bummed because he really wanted to see Levis Stadium, the new home of the 49ers (comic relief).
Webster has been playing in place of Chris Harris III while Harris recovers from off-season knee surgery and is drawing rave reviews for his work in camp this year. Speculation is that first round draft pick, Bradley Roby or veteran, Tony Carter will start in Webster’s absence.
