WHICH RUNNING BACK WILL CEMENT THEIR STATUS AS #4 ON THE DEPTH CHART?

Since last Thursday, Broncos Country has been non-stop abuzz about Juwan Thompson. With 6 touches, Thompson rattled off 59 yards vs the Seahawks and he did it with authority. Since then, he’s even seen some snaps with the 1st team offense.

But there was another reserve RB who threw his name in the hat last week. Kapri Bibbs. Bibbs showcased his burst and explosion, rushing for 18 yards and a TD.

He had at least one excellent run called back on a ticky tack penalty. But Bibbs’ performance last week helped everyone, including me, to see why the Broncos are so interested in this kid. There’s a reason he rushed for 31 TDs last year with the C.S.U. Rams.

With injuries to Montee Ball and C.J. Anderson, both of whom will be out on Sunday, there are two other reserve RBs who hope to see plenty of action. Brennan Clay and Jerodis Williams.

Clay received a couple of touches last Thursday, but was unable to do much with them. On one of those touches, he had a defender in the backfield right when he received the ball. No hope on that play.

Williams didn’t see a single snap. As of right now, it looks like it’s a two-horse race for that 4th and final RB spot on the Broncos’ final roster and it’s between Thompson and Bibbs. But that could change in a single play.
