The 49ers consistently field one of the best special teams units in the NFL. Looks to be no different this year. They are working to find a return man, but Bruce Ellington looks the part. When he gets a chance to return, it is deadly. The return blocking is beyond great. They open plenty of holes for Ellington to explode through.

When the 49ers are in special team’s coverage, their excellence continues. They have gunners who get down the field almost immediately. The kicker/punter get good hang time on their kicks, allowing more than just the gunners to get down field. On kickoff’s they stay disciplined. Very rarely is a hole opened, and on the rare occasion one it, they plug it quickly.
