Thompson was a player who had created a lot of buzz in training camp thus far, so I was excited to see him in action. His first carry of the night, a sweep down the right sideline, was an 18 yard gain. That carry set the tone for the evening for Thompson. Although he left the game early with concussion symptoms, he carried the ball 6 times for a whopping 59 yards. That’s almost a 10-yard per carry clip. Later, he did pass concussion protocol and was cleared to return, but the Broncos kept him out. For now, Thompson is the clear favorite to earn the #4 RB slot, behind Montee Ball, Ronnie Hillman, and C.J. Anderson.
