Matt Schaub is looking for a fresh start in Oakland after the wheels fell off last season with the Houston Texans. Schaub went from being a Pro-Bowler who was mentioned among the next group of great young quarterbacks to a healthy scratch down the stretch for the two-win Texans. Has he ever been an elite quarterback? No, but he isn’t as bad as the guy we saw early last season before he was sidelined with an injury.

The Raiders are emerging from salary cap hell and should field a much more competitive team in 2014, and Schaub will have a lot to do with that. Their ceiling is realistically .500, but they could have a say in home-field advantage when Schaub brings them to Denver for the season finale. Even if he returns to form, however, Schaub is still not in the same solar system as Peyton Manning.

Advantage: Manning/Broncos
