Week 3:  Denver Broncos @ Seattle Seahawks (9/21/14 2:25 pm MDT)

The story of Russell Wilson’s ascension to the NFL’s elite has been well documented. Everybody passed on this guy in the draft and he’s been making them pay since the Seahawks issued him his playbook in rookie mini-camp back in the spring of 2012. Wilson is the only quarterback  in the NFL besides Peyton Manning to post a Passer Rating of over 100 in each of the last two seasons. Not Drew Brees, not Aaron Rodgers, not Tom Brady, but just Wilson and Manning. Wilson showed no fear as he led his Seahawks to a blowout victory over the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII as he posted a 123.1 Passer Rating compared to Manning’s 73.5 (his 3rd lowest in 36 games as a Bronco).

Wilson’s poise, playmaking ability, and leadership have him and the Seahawks positioned to be the next great dynasty if they can replace the depth that always gets leached away from Super Bowl winners. Considering what Wilson and the ‘Hawks did to the Broncos on a neutral field, it might be more of the same when they face each other again in Seattle.

Advantage: Wilson/Seahawks
