Von Miller. 58. player. 45.
Height: 6-3

Weight: 250

Von Miller has been a great player in the NFL, when he is actually seeing the field. Last year he missed the first six games with a suspension and then got hurt against the Houston Texans that got him placed on IR.

When he is on the field, Miller is one of the most disruptive players in the NFL. Nearly every play he has some kind of involvement in. His weak point is obviously pass coverage, but he is a pass rusher. He gets after the QB and wreaks havoc. He also is a solid run defender. He has a knack for sniffing out the play and stopping it early. His 2013 season, statistically, wasn’t great. But of course he missed so many games. His real impact in 2013 doesn’t show on the stat sheet. It is his disruption. The amount of disruption Miller causes teams to plan against him and avoid him in the run game.

There is a chance Miller starts the season on the PUP list, while he recovers from the ACL injury he sustained during the Texans game. If he doesn’t he is a lock to make the team, though he may be used in certain situations only at first. Eventually, Miller will be the starting “Sam” linebacker. His health is a cause for concern, but the Broncos have some players who, while they won’t fill the void completely, will step in and lessen the blow.
. Sam Linebacker. Denver Broncos

Height: 6-3

Weight: 249

Signed as a UDFA after the 2013 draft, McCray spent the last year on injured reserve for the Broncos. Now he is looking at a starting role if Miller goes on the PUP list.

McCray, like Miller, is a pass rusher first. However, McCray is an unknown commodity. He can shine or he can fail. It is unknown, but all signs and reports lean-to him being successful. With Miller unable to take part in offseason drills, McCray has spent time at his spot and has had success. Preseason will be the real test.

If Miller is on the PUP to start the season, mark McCray as the starter. If Miller is good to go, McCray will still make the roster and likely start anyways while Miller gets back to 100%.
. Sam Linebacker. Denver Broncos. Lerentee McCray. 55. player. 45
