45. Right now, Hillman is the Broncos’ fan base’s biggest goat. He’s the guy everyone wants to cut. Everyone wants to criticize everything he does. The fact remains, Hillman was a third round pick in 2012. If he had played out all four years of his college eligibility, he’d be a rookie in 2014. I’m not excusing his fumbles or lack of ability to step up and make the explosive plays like he was drafted to do, I’m just saying I think it takes more time for some guys. Having had a couple of seasons to learn the ways of the NFL–and of Peyton Manning–it wouldn’t shock me to see Hillman get his role as #2 RB back this season and make a significant impact in that regard..
