Happy 54th birthday to Denver Broncos legend John Elway!
Elway’s contributions to the city of Denver and the Broncos’ organization are too many to list here, but I thought Patrick Smyth (Broncos exec. director of media relations) had some really cool Tweets of statistics out this morning on his contributions as GM of the team.
Happy Birthday to @johnelway, who has helped the Broncos post the 3rd-most wins in the NFL (37-17, .685) in his three years as GM.

Under @johnelway, Broncos have won 3 consec. division titles for 1st time ever. DEN, NE & GB are only teams to win div each of last 3 years.

Broncos' @johnelway is only GM in NFL to acquire AP All-Pro thru draft (Miller), UFA (Vasquez) and street FA (Manning) in last 3 yrs.

That last stat is really cool to me. As a GM, that’s a testament to your scouting department, recruiting abilities, and being able to identify players who fit the culture of this team and league.
The ultimate goal for Elway and the Broncos is to win a Super Bowl, and he’s determined to make that happen by whatever means necessary. He’s made some really bold moves as a GM, and is proving he’s as competitive in the front office as he is on the field.
Happy birthday to the GOAT!
