In addition to the previously reported transaction to place DE John Youboty on the waived/injured list, the Denver Broncos have made a handful of roster moves to bring the total number of players on the team to 90.

Players Released

  • DE John Youboty (waived/injured)
  • DT Mister Cobble (waived)
  • P Steven Clark (waived)

Players Added

  • WR Greg Hardin (UDFA, North Dakota)
  • LB Chase Vaughn (Tryout, CSU-Pueblo)
  • S Charles Mitchell (Tryout)

In addition to letting go of Youboty, the Broncos let go of the guy among the UDFA with arguably the coolest name, a 6’0″ 330 pound defensive tackle named Mister Cobble. Also waived was punter Steven Clark, who was brought in as one of the Broncos’ undrafted free agents.

Those who were added include undrafted free agent wide receiver Greg Hardin, who we have scouted in-depth here at Predominantly Orange, as well as Charles Mitchell, a guy who was a sixth round pick of the Falcons in 2012 and signed with the Broncos to a futures contract earlier this year before being waived, and then receiving a tryout this past weekend.

Chase Vaughn is the all-time sacks leader at Colorado State-Pueblo and has played professionally in the AFL, UFL, CFL, and IFL. Now he gets a shot at the NFL, presumably a chance to compete with the Broncos at training camp. That will be another interesting story to monitor.
